Description and area of application PC® HI-TEMP/RTV Silicone Adhesive is a one part, neutral cure, silicone adhesive/sealant formulated for use at high temperatures. It is particularly suited for use in conjunction with FOAMGLAS® insulation systems that require adhering or sealing FOAMGLAS® insulation to FOAMGLAS® insulation or for adhering the insulation to hot surfaces. It cures to an elastomeric solid at room temperature. 2. Field Application DO NOT THIN. All surfaces should be dry and free of dust, loose scale, oil, grease and frost. Use a caulking gun to apply adhesive. Cut nozzle to mm (1/4 in.) or desired bead size. Apply mm (1/4 in.) bead of silicone adhesive 10 cm (4 in.) on center to FOAMGLAS® insulation block and press to the substrate using a slight rotary motion. Five 5 cm (2 in.) diameter daubs of silicone adhesive per insulation block may be used instead of the bead application method. Joints less than or equal to 3 mm (1/8 in) are desirable. Do not use this or any other sealant to fill large voids from poor fitting insulation. Blocks or joints should be rubbed to obtain good fit before application of sealant. If a coating is to be applied, cut off any squeezed-out the sealant flush with surface. Cure time is approximately 30 hours at 25°C (77°F) at 50% relative humidity. The actual cure time will depend on the degree of air contact. In full air contact, the adhesive forms a tack free skin in 25 minutes 3. Type of Delivery and Storage 305 ml ( fl. oz.) cartridges. 12 oz. cartridges/carton PC ® Hi-Temp RTV is a made-to-order product which may require a lead time of up to four weeks from receipt of order. Contact your local FOAMGLAS ® insulation supplier for minimum order quantities and lead times. Store original, unopened containers in a cool, dry area. Protect unopened containers from water, heat and direct sunlight. Consult Safety Data Sheet for additional storage and handling information. 4. Coverage Standard application of sealant to FOAMGLAS® insulation joints requires 880 cm²/cartridge = 3 mm film (136 in²/cartridge = Ɨ in. film) . One tube will will produce approximatetly m ( 24 ft.) of mm (¼ in.) dia. bead.
